Bulletin - May 7, 2017 - Lord's Pantry

POOR BOX RECIPIENT FOR May & June, 2017

Lord's Pantry

The Pantry is grateful for your past generosity and look to your continuing support to enable us to serve the needy of our community.

 Mission Statement

The Lord’s Pantry provides food and other services to the needy living in the Downingtown school district.  The mission statement of the Lord’s Pantry is based on the belief that no one should suffer from hunger and our primary purpose is to provide supplemental food assistance to low income families and individuals.  We are able to deliver this service because of the generosity of the community and the network of committed volunteers in a manner that places high value on respecting the dignity of our clients.  Recognizing that our clients have other unmet needs, we assist them in obtaining other benefits from governmental and private agencies and provide other services to enhance their quality of life.

Where do your donations go?

Donations to the Lord’s Pantry are used to purchase food selections routinely offered to our families; such as, meat, dairy, grains and vegetables.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are always welcome and are needed at the Pantry.  During normal operating hours commitment can be as little as 1 1/2 hours per month or as much time as one can spare.  Volunteers assist individuals in selecting food.  Volunteers sort donations, pick up donations and stock the shelves.
