Help a Parishioner Win a Scholarship
Parishioner Luke Shannon submitted a video for the 2023 Breakthrough Challenge Scholarship and has been selected as a finalist. From now through September 20, finalist videos will be posted on the Breakthrough YouTube channel and Facebook page, where people are free to watch and respond to the videos. The votes are tallied based on the number of likes and reactions the videos receive. To watch Luke’s video about black holes, visit the YouTube and/or Facebook link below. Villa Maria by the Sea Retreat Center
Villa Maria by the Sea Retreat Center, Stone Harbor, NJ is now welcoming lay people as well as clergy and religious to participate in our spiritual programs. Formerly a retreat house reserved solely for the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Malvern, PA), our new building accommodates 45 overnight guests. Our Catholic faith is rooted throughout our property. Mass is celebrated in Mary, Star of the Sea Chapel and has the Blessed Sacrament present for Eucharistic Adoration. There are serene indoor and outdoor porches for quiet reflection or small group sharing. The Stations of the Cross are located inside the chapel and outside where you are invited to pray this beautiful devotion. The Saint Joseph Garden is a peaceful place to enjoy God’s beauty.

Fall Bereavement Support Group
The loss of a loved one can be an overwhelming emotional experience. Grief is a journey that can be difficult to manage alone, but there is hope and healing in sharing your journey with others. If you are looking for a safe and compassionate place to share your grief, please join us for our 5-week program on Wednesday evenings at Saint Joseph Church in Downingtown, starting September 13, at 7:30 PM in the St. John Neumann Room (off the church narthex). 8th Annual Padre Pio Festival
Saint Bede the Venerable Church in Holland, PA welcomes all to a festival to honor St. Pio of Pietrelcina, better known as Padre Pio, on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 and 17. The two-day event begins with Saturday’s All-American Picnic Buffet (tickets will be sold at the event). The highlight will be a 5:30 PM Vigil Mass, followed by blessings with holy relics of Padre Pio. The Sunday 12:30 PM Solemn Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Nelson Perez. The Mass is followed by a street procession, healing service with confessions and veneration of holy relics. Both days there will be specialty food and craft vendors, amusements for children, and live musical entertainment. Plenty of free parking will be available, and pilgrim buses are welcome. Candlelight Remembrance at All Souls Cemetery
All Souls Cemetery in Coatesville will hold a Candlelight Remembrance on Monday, November 29, at 6:00 PM on the cemetery grounds. The service will include luminaries in honor of our loved ones during All Souls Month. The service will be led by Fr.
