REAL: Reading Excites All Learners Tutoring Program

Join your neighbors and fellow parishioners and make a REAL impact in the life of a 2nd grader at a local elementary school. Administered by Partners in Outreach, REAL: Reading Excites All Learners is a one-on-one tutoring program built to support at-risk readers in early grades. Join the REAL team and help a second grade student with their reading skills on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, or serve as a substitute as openings occur.  No experience is necessary. Save the Date ~ Saint Peregrine Day

Resurrection of Our Lord Parish in Northeast Philadelphia is hosting Saint Peregrine Day on Saturday, September 10. This is an all-day event focused on encouragement and spiritual renewal for those fighting cancer and their families. This entire day will feature inspirational talks about faith and cancer, powerful moments of prayer throughout the day, demonstrations and presentations, a holistic health expo fair, and so much more. Come visit the shrine and relics of Saint Peregrine who is the patron saint of those suffering from cancer. Golf Classic to Benefit Malvern Retreat House

You are invited to participate in the 13th Annual Golf Classic at the Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell, PA on Monday, September 12. The Malvern Retreat Golf Classic is held each year to raise funds for the Malvern Retreat House.  A portion of the MRH Golf Classic proceeds fund the Malvern Cares program established to assist needy individuals and families. Through Malvern Cares, people from all walks of life who have special needs - emotional, physical, or formerly homeless - will have the opportunity to experience and benefit from the many Retreat House programs. Contemplative Prayer Retreat

Apostolate of the Returning King will hold a weekend retreat on contemplative prayer at the Malvern Retreat House from Friday, September 16 through Sunday, September 18. Padre Pio Festival

Saint Bede the Venerable Church, located in Holland (Bucks County, Northampton Township), welcomes all to its Seventh Annual Festival to honor St. Pio of Pietrelcina, (Padre Pio), on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18. The two-day event begins with Saturday’s All-American Picnic Buffet (tickets will be sold at the event), featuring games and amusements for children, food and craft vendors, and live music. The highlight will be a 5:30 PM Vigil Mass, followed by blessings with holy relics of Padre Pio. The Sunday 12:30 PM Solemn Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Thomas Betz, OFM, Cap., followed by a street procession with a statue of Padre Pio and a healing service with confessions and veneration of holy relics. All day there will be specialty food and craft vendors, amusements for children, and live musical entertainment. Plenty of free parking will be available, and pilgrim buses are welcome. Annual Carnival at Holy Martyrs

Holy Martyrs Parish in Oreland will hold their annual carnival starting Tuesday, September 20 through Sunday, September 24 starting at 6:00 PM daily (3:00 PM on Saturday). Come enjoy time with family and friends! There will be rides, games, plenty of food, craft been & wine. Advance tickets are available for purchase at the rectory office. Our Lady of Confidence Retreat for Persons with Disabilities

A three-day retreat at Malvern Retreat House has been scheduled for October 11, 12 & 13 for adults with disabilities. The retreat is geared for adults with intellectual, physical or emotional disabilities. The retreat will be directed by a team: Fr. Dennis Weber, Fr. Amal Sawarimuthu, Fr. Mike Speziale and Fr.
